NFL Recognition Team - Recognising Front Liners on Gameday

The Power of Recognition

During the 2017 NFL London Games, we introduced a new and novel idea.  Build a team that's sole purpose on gameday is to recognise the positive behaviours and actions of front line staff at the NFL London Games at Wembley Stadium and Twickenham Stadium.

The recognition team consisted of 8 team members whose sole purpose was to recognise staff for doing all the right things that contributed to the NFL fan journey.  At the start of the day, typically 6-8 hours before the game was scheduled to start, this team was onsite to recognise staff as they arrived with a staff-only, 10 year pin.

As soon as the venue opened, the team was deployed to recognise staff with two levels of recognition: Touchdowns and First Downs.  A touchdown was a "WOW" moment where staff went above and beyond to be a part of the NFL's common purpose: To create excitement and lifetime memories.  These staff were given a Touchdown Card that they could redeem postgame for an NFL London Games branded mini football.

First down recognition was associated with the basics.  Smiling, making eye contact, showing a guest to their seat or just having a positive impact on the guest and their experience.  This was recognised on the spot with a First Down card as well as a team specific pin from that days matchup.

Recognition is powerful and creates a positive environment where front liners can show their best and be an integral part of the fan experience.  The 2017 NFL Recognition Team showed the power of recognition through the simple focus on recognising staff behaviours and actions tied to our common purpose statement.
