The Making of MoonShot

MoonShot’s American creator, Matt Lynch, started his career working at the ‘Happiest Place on Earth’ - Disneyworld, and there realised a passion for creating a culture of customer service based on staff engagement, in order to create lifelong memories and awesome experiences for guests at venues and events all over the world.  

After Disney, working for various companies in roles such as; Director of Guest Services, and Vice President of Fan Experience, first in the US with The Atlanta Braves and The College Football Hall of Fame, he then brought that experience to the UK, as Head of Guest Experience at Wembley Stadium in London.  

Moving to Europe, specifically the UK, it had become clear that the guest experience was very different from in the US. The American experience has everything to do with the staff; witnessing first-hand the impact that staff members can make on the guest experience both positive and negative. In the US it is the responsibility of every staff member to enhance the guest experience by engaging with them, always with smiles, enthusiasm and creating memorable moments whenever possible.  

At this point the UK had not yet turned a corner from just providing basic customer service, it was much more about the function of their roles and their day-to-day duties, rather than purpose and them being a part of the experience themselves. The opportunity to make a culture shift within this industry drove Matt’s passion even deeper and he found himself wanting to do whatever he could to make a difference across the UK and Europe. 

That is when MoonShot was born.  

MoonShot’s first client’s were London Stadium and then The NFL, helping the NFL work towards creating an authentic NFL experience for their many fans outside of the US. Since then, MoonShot has grown rapidly, helping companies build their own culture of guest services, creating awesome experiences for their fans.

Matt’s experience with the Walt Disney Company early in his career began to shape his vision for how powerful a guest experience could be when you have an engaged and purpose driven front line team. He leveraged that experience to serve front liners in some amazing organizations both in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Matt served in Major League Baseball for the Atlanta Braves from 2007-2013 as Director of Guest Services, opened The College Football Hall of Fame in 2014 as Vice President, Fan Experience and relocated to the United Kingdom as Head of Guest Services at iconic Wembley Stadium from 2014-2016.  Matt was on the opening team of Disney’s fourth theme park, Animal Kingdom in 1998 and opened Disney’s London Production of The Lion King in 1999.

Erin has served in many guest experience and service environments including her most recent post as Sr. Director of Guest Experience at the San Diego Padres as well as part of the opening team for Truist Park as the Director of Guest Services also in MLB with the Atlanta Braves.

An experienced and passionate leader, Erin has expertise in areas of customer service, hospitality, accessible services, event-planning, public-speaking, writing, data analytics driving operational efficiency and creative revenue growth. She believes in empowering team members to make a tangible difference in the guest experience and has proven success in developing cohesive and effective recruiting, hiring, on-boarding, training, recognition and measurement programs. Erin is detail-oriented with a strategic vision centered on performance excellence and team development.

Nick joined the MoonShot Team from company inception in 2016 and has been an integral leader in defining our mission, vision and values. Nick’s roles and responsibilites include all accounting and administrative functions and oversees the company P&L, invoicing and sub-contractor queries. Nick also joins the team on our operational event delivery and has been a key member of those teams at the NFLUK London Games, SB LIII in Atlanta, SB LIV in Miami, MLB London Series in 2019 as well as concert support delivery at London Stadium for Foo Fighters, Guns N Roses and Beyonce.

Tony's entire career has been driven by developing operational strategies that are based on the customer experience through his early start in the retail industry and the moving into the event industry both at the old and new Wembley Stadium and the RFU Twickenham Stadium, managing commercial operations and developing the guest experience through Club Wembley and Twickenham Experience amongst others. Most recently Managing Director of an Event Services provider which, over 7 years, doubled turnover, increased sustainable profit by over 400% whilst achieving client Net Feedback Scores of over 90%. Tony officially retired in early 2024, but could not resist supporting Moonshot due to a shared vision of the importance of guest experience to the client brand and a sustainable business.
